Where are you from?: I was born and raised in a very small town in rural South Carolina. I have lived all over the Southeast, but Atlanta has been my home for the past twenty years. Were you a good kid?: I was a great kid! I am the youngest of five - I have two older brothers and two older sisters. I never gave my parents a moment of trouble till I came out at the age of 19. Being Southern Baptists, my family had a really hard time with my sexuality, but over the years they have mellowed in their opinions. We are closer than ever now. In High School – who did you hang out with?: I actually went to a very small, private school. I went to school in the same building with the same twenty or so kids for twelve straight years. In school, I pretty much kept to myself. I did well in my studies, but didn't really belong to any particular group. I knew I was different so I pretty much made myself into a loner. Where do you live now?: Atlanta, GA has been my home for twenty years now. I live in Midtown, Atlanta and love it! Have you put down roots?: I would think that after twenty years that I am fairly well rooted now. I am actually thinking about uprooting and heading out west though. I have been dating a wonderful man named Billy for the past year or so. We met online several years ago, but never had a chance to meet or date till recently. California is looking better all the time! How old are you?: I am 45. What's your astrological sign?: According to the placemats at the China Garden, I was born in the year of the Dragon. Otherwise, I am very typical Leo.
What's your ethnic background?: My family is mostly Dutch and British.
What do you do for fun?: I'm a pretty typical geek. I love sci-fi, fantasy and horror in all forms. I enjoy traveling and meeting new folks. I also love fooling around with music. I have been an amateur DJ for a few years now. I jokingly tell my friends that I really do love music in spite of what I may do to it. I’ve read where you call yourself a ‘devil of a bear’. Why so?: Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated by monsters and scary stuff. The nickname has more to do with my devilish sense of humor more than anything.
Do you have any guilty pleasures?: I love really bad B-movies, especially cheesy horror flicks. Are you single?: I am currently in a long-distance relationship with a wonderful man out in San Francisco named Billy Brooks. What top three qualities do you look for in a man?.: I would have to say that I really admire the qualities of honesty, compassion and loyalty. What's a deal breaker on a first date?: I really have a low tolerance for bullshit and pretense. Do you hang out with bears and cubs? You go to bear events?: I'm really lucky to have a wide variety of bearish friends and acquaintances here in Atlanta. I hang out with all sorts of folks and enjoy hitting a few bear events every year. In the past, I've enjoyed International Bear Rendezvous in San Francisco, Bear Bust in Orlando, Bear Pride in Chicago and Sugar Bear Weekend up in Montreal. What's the naughtiest thing you've ever done in public?: It is funny, but it would have to coincide with my very first visit to San Francisco back in 1993. I was introduced to the owner of the original Bear Magazine and ended up posing in the buff for them. The main photo shoot took place in the studio at the magazine's headquarters, but they decided that they wanted to do some outdoor shots as well. In order to get the shot that eventually became the cover of that issue, I had to pretty much pose naked in a public space in full sight of afternoon commuters. Most people on the street didn't seem to notice or care, but a few motorists honked as they drove past.
What's your best feature?: My best physical feature would have to be my eyes. My best personality trait is my sense of humor. Name one your erogenous zones?: His name is Billy.
Are you into sports?: I am not much of an athlete or a sports fan. I played football back in high school, but never really enjoyed it. I was a big guy and it was pretty much expected that I would play. These days, I try to work out regularly for my health, but that is about it. I've lifted weights off and on for most of my adult life. PC or MAC?: I guess I'm a computer whore. I actually own and enjoy both. I just got a new iMac and have to say that I love it to an unnatural degree though. Where do see yourself in ten years? Daddy bear?: I guess that I am well on my way to grandaddy bear status. I still feel like a cub, but the years are catching up with me. Major changes are coming. Stay tuned! Give us a quote: "Any fool can make a rule, and any fool will mind it." - Henry David Thoreau
